Service That's Always Effortless
Simplified Design
One great way to make a mower more reliable and easier to service is to simplify the mower itself. When Exmark redesigned the Lazer Z E-Series for 2025, primary goals were to maintain performance and durability while simplifying the overall machine to reduce maintenance and ease service. From the unibody frame to the redesigned height of cut mechanism and two-blade 48-inch cutting deck, the Exmark design team reduced overall parts count on the new Lazer Z E-Series by a massive 17-percent. It also eased maintenance by cutting the number of annual grease points in half (from four to two) and rotating the engine by 90-degrees. This makes common service points more easily accessible. Sometimes simpler really is better.
Removable Engine Guard
The engine is one of the most expensive components on any mower, so it makes sense to protect it from the daily abuse a commercial mower receives. The rear engine guard on the new Lazer Z X-Series provides full coverage engine protection yet removes quickly with just four bolts to increase engine access for service.
Maintenance-Free Sealed Bearing Caster Assemblies
The caster pivot bearings on zero-turn and stand-on mowers live a very hard, dirty life. Exmark pioneered the use of sealed, maintenance-free caster pivot bearings on its mowers. Not only does the design eliminate caster pivot maintenance, the superior sealing and wear resistance deliver a lifetime of smooth spinning performance.
Tools-free Removable Belt Shields and Floor Pan
One area Exmark has innovated in to ease service on its mowers is to make common service access points tools-free. Examples include the tools-free removable belt shields and floor pan, which enable tools-free replacement of deck and hydro belts. In addition, Vertex models feature a tools-free removable operator pad, which offers easy access to hydro and spray system components.
Oil Guard Engine
For landscape contractors, the engine powering a typical zero-turn mower will need multiple oil changes each season. It’s one of the biggest reasons for in-season equipment downtime, so minimizing or eliminating in-season oil changes can be a huge benefit. That’s why the new Exmark Lazer Z X-Series is available with the awesome Vanguard Oil Guard system. It extends oil change intervals to 500 hours to significantly reduce in season maintenance. The system also reduces engine temperatures by 20-30 degrees on average, so engine performance doesn’t drop when the heat is on.
Two Annual Grease Points
Equipment downtime kills productivity and profitability, which is why eliminating downtime is a big priority at Exmark. A patented deck strut system using automotive-style, maintenance-free greaseless bushings, and sealed, maintenance-free caster pivot bearings are Exmark innovations resulting from this focus. The effort has paid off, as most Exmark mowers have just two annual grease points, dramatically reducing in-season maintenance needs.
