State funding to increase company’s competitiveness through certification in Lean manufacturing

Beatrice, Neb. (2/20/15) — Exmark Manufacturing announced today that it has received a training grant from the Nebraska Worker Training Program. The grant will help the company maintain its competitive position in global markets by providing lean enterprise training and certification for four Exmark employees.

“In its quest to be a world-class manufacturer, nearly 15 years ago Exmark began implementing principles of lean manufacturing into its business,” said Exmark’s, Human Resource Manager, Tyler Berry. “This process of continual improvement is ongoing, and this grant provides the opportunity for Exmark to significantly increase the number of manufacturing staff with lean enterprise certification.

“The process of becoming a lean organization helps Exmark stay competitive by reducing waste and non-productive time, which leads to increased quality, shortened production times and improved delivery.”

Training for the Exmark employees will take place at the Nebraska Business Development Center at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and is schedule to be complete by August 2015.
