Beatrice YMCA Receives Exmark Big Rock Program Grant

As the recipient of Exmark’s 2020 Big Rock project grant, the Beatrice YMCA received a check for $100,000. The funds will go to the organization’s Capital Campaign to improve the organization’s facility and grounds.

Exmark General Manager, Daryn Walters, made the presentation in the company’s new headquarters in the Gage County Industrial Park.

“This is very important to us,” Walters said. “I’ve been at Exmark for fifteen years, and you can’t fake the genuineness that the people have about our community, about our equipment, and about a job well done. It’s just tremendous, and I’m very proud to be associated with this organization.”

YMCA Executive Director, Allison Leonard said the Exmark company and YMCA’s cultures are similar.

“It’s just awesome to see organizations like this in our community that are always trying to give back, but also who truly know the meaning of volunteerism,” Leonard said. “I very, very much appreciate this check, but most I most importantly appreciate that you are always willing to give and looking for things to make our community better.”

The Exmark Big Rock project was founded in 2007 to preserve and beautify outdoor landscapes in need of additional resources. Since inception the project has contributed financially and with volunteer labor to complete 14 project within a 30-mile radius of Exmark’s headquarters in Beatrice, Nebraska.

The application deadline to be considered for the 2022 Big Rock program grant is March 31, 2022. Visit Exmark.com to learn more about the Big Rock project and all of Exmark’s giving programs.
